Back home again

Gabriel watched as she walked away and shook his head he turned and sat down outside on the steps hid hand mindlessly launching a flame of fire and catching it again like it was a ball,

he stood and sighed time to go i think maybe the Himalayas this time he looked back at big door then thought of Raith no one needs me here

he stood and began to walk away he thought sadly walking away again

He was just contemplating the details of the trip when he heard the doors behind him,
he looked over at her "everything ok in there?"
he stuffed his hands into the jeans under her robes.
"so what now?"

He walked over to her reaching for her wrist
"listen Harriate i need to talk to you"

"im leaving for a while"
he layed his hand on her shoulder
"i have to leave"

He looked down concerned
"where will you go?" he reached forward taking her hand

He followed her gaze down to her arm his eyes darkening.
"you dont have to do that come with me"

"bollocks" his eyes hardened
"if you go to them then im going to" he stared his resolve

"you have no idea what i have done in my life"
his eyes seemed to turn black

He walked forward a slight snarl
"i killed my own family" he looked out "there all dead now my parents my two sisters and my brother loki" he groled "all gone"

He led his dark eyes fall on hers his mood darkened "they called it 'the slaughter of thankes lane because in the end i killed all that knew them" his tone grew quite
"i can kill for no reason have no fear there, it was a huge waste of life and it was by my hand"

The statement made him snap his eyes filled with fury to the point they changed to the vampiric golden color with tell tale sighs of red "a person can change there fate and fortune, dont talk such nonsense he is alive you fool, you have protected these people" he indicated the manor "do not speak such foolishness" he growled
"i cannot change the fate of my family i live with it daily as you must do also, that is the cross those of us have witnessed death of those close to us even caused it must bear but you move on adapt and overcome" he snarled thrusting her key into her hand "i will no longer abide your excuses you are a strong leader now lead!"

Harriate grabbed the key and cold eyes glared upat Gabriel.

'What if i don't want to lead anymore. What if i don't want to protect anymore. I'm always protecting someone. I'm always leading someone and helping them to do better. When do i get to be the one who gets help? The one who can just step back sometimes. I just need...' Harriate turned away from him looking at the manor.

'I just need to know who i am. All my life i've done things for others. I spent years looking after the serpentines and Ha...him...then when he d..died i hunted his killers and spent the rest of my time learning and training other elementals. Then it's running stupid sections in a stupid war. All i even know about me is i make a great weapon but a crap human. I just want to be a normal girl. Is that to much to ask? Can't i just...i don't know...' She sighed and without looking at Gabriel walked back up the stone steps.

'But i guess i have to do this don't i'

He looked at her the hate fading from him being replaced by sympathy "then why return here to this alliance or to the scum on your wrist they are all roads leading to the chains of slavery" he followed her "pass this on" he indicated to the key and the manor "forget those who brand you with there mark and come with me" he offered

"i take no orders hence i dont give them" he said simply "i travel the world living experiences i do crazy and peaceful things when you do these things, when you live a adventure filled life you begin to know who you are, and you will get what you want you will feel human"

he dropped his gaze feeling a wash of sorrow and guilt over his past "thats why i do it"
